AG Tunde Ojo’s Visit: A Call to Grow, Serve, and Shine Brighter

L-R: Rtn. Ige Olusegun (Charter President), Rtn. Jegede Olasoji (United President), AG. Tunde Ojo and Rtn. Saka Mohammed (Immediate Past President) | Rotary Club of New Oko-Oba Metropolitan

The Assistant Governor visited our Club (Rotary Club of New Oko-Oba Metropolitan) with a heartfelt message that both inspired and challenged us to aim higher this Rotary year.

He reminded us that membership is the lifeblood of Rotary, charging the Club to grow to at least 30 members before the end of the Rotary year. With more hands on deck, he said, we can do more and reach further.

“Membership is the engine that drives Rotary forward.” – Assistant Governor

Our service projects were warmly commended, especially the Maternal & Child Health (M&C) project. He encouraged us to continue delivering impactful initiatives and, importantly, to publicize our projects. By sharing our stories, we not only inspire the community but also attract prospective members who are eager to join once they see the good we are doing.

The AG emphasized the importance of contributing to the Rotary Foundation (RF), encouraging us to give generously so we can be part of the global pool of funds driving humanitarian projects worldwide.

He also highlighted the power of collaboration — urging us to partner with other Clubs both locally and internationally, and to leverage the strength of our members in the diaspora to expand our impact.

On youth development, he charged the Club to increase our participation in RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards), as it plays a key role in nurturing the next generation of Rotarians while strengthening our community support.

He further encouraged us to strengthen the Family of Rotary, by looking after members’ welfare and keeping in touch regularly to ensure no member is left behind.

In closing, the AG promised to adjust his schedule to attend our Membership Seminar on August 28th, and he reaffirmed his continued support for the Club as we press forward in service and fellowship.

Together, with renewed energy, let’s rise to the challenge: growing our membership, deepening our impact, and shining even brighter as a beacon of Rotary in our community!
