Rotary District 9110 Governor, Ifeyinwa Rita Ejezie visited our Club on 27th January, 2024
The Rotary Club of New Oko-Oba Metropolitan in collaboration with Rotary Club of Iju Spring and Rotary club of Beckley Estate conducted its Governor’s Visit on January 27, 2024 at Fidimaye Hall, New Oko-Oba, Abule Egba Lagos.
The annual “official visit” provides the district governor an opportunity to address the club regarding Rotary International and the district’s goals, objectives and issues that are important to the club and to its membership.
As part of the agenda for the day, The Rotary club of New Oko-Oba Metropolitan had Board Meeting with the District Governor and her team
The meeting was attended by the D9110 Governor Ifeyinwa Rita Ejezie, District Secretary Tayo Adelaja, Deputy District Secretary Henry Akinbobola and ADS Adewale Abdul and RC New Oko-Oba Metropolitan President Oke Oluwatosin, Vice President/President-elect Saka Mohammed, Charter President Ige Olusegun, Community Service Project Director Jegede Olasoji, , Public Image Chair Adeola Owolabi, Treasuer Monsuru Omoniyi and the newly inducted member Ebunoluwa Felicia.
The club reported to District 9110 Governor Ifeyinwa Rita Ejezie, the club’s status, achievement and challenges. Amongst important matters, TRF-The Rotary Foundation, contribution to Polio Plus society, every Rotarian every year contribution, setting club goals and budget (income, expenditure, deficit and surplus) were discussed thoroughly and how it potentiates and aids financially the implementation of the Rotary planned projects. It was agreed at the board meeting that every member of RC New Oko-Oba Metropolitan will donate $10 each to polio plus society.
The Governor extended her appreciation in the competency of the club members in growing the club and encouraged the President Rtn. Oke Oluwatosin and his team to work on the club membership, attract quality members and ensure that the club gives more priorities to Rotary programs and get involved in learning more about Rotary. The district governor also emphasized on the importance of public image to Rotary and the global community. Clubs are advised to effectively promote the good image of Rotary and with effective usage of its materials.
The District Governor inducted Ebunoluwa Felicia (member of Rotary club of New Oko-oba metropolitan) and three other new members ( two from RC Iju springs and one from RC Beckley Estate) into Rotary. However, the DG promised following up with the Rotary Club of New Oko-Oba Metropolitan for growth measure and hope to check back with the club to celebrate success going forward.
